2023 Webinars on Solar Topics

SPF Institute for Solar Technology together with UMTEC Institute of Environmental and Process Engineering at the Eastern University of Applied Sciences (OST) held a webinar series on solar-powered technologies in November 2023. The webinar series focused on solar-powered water pumping system, solar-powered gravity driven membrane system for clean drinking water and solar-powered irrigation system, with an emphasis on small-scale off-grid applications. The webinar series was attended by more than 50 participants, including professionals and students, from around the world. The participants were mainly from Libya, Kenya, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, France, Nigeria, and others.

Kanchan Bohara, Prof. Christof Biba, Andreas Reber, Dr. Dorothee Spuhler, Dylan Derradj from the Eastern University of Applied Sciences (OST) in Switzerland, Laryee A. Sannor from the Bowier Trust Foundation Switzerland (BTFS), Manoj Pantha from the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation(MoEWRI) in Nepal, Karin Jeanneret from Ennos AG in Switzerland, Lukas Bouman from Eawag-Sandec in Switzerland presented different topics in the webinar series.

Webinar 1: Solar-powered technologies

This webinar focused on the theoretical understanding of solar-powered technologies such as solar-power water pumping and water treatment systems, including Photovoltaic (PV) system, with an emphasis on small-scale off-grid applications in the African region.
