Workshops for Lecturers 2020
Two interactive, online workshops for lectures on e-learning and online teaching were conducted in French and English. Using the Design Thinking Approach, first the needs and problems of online teaching were analysed to then develop solutions. Workshop for Students 2020
In this online workshop, online learning needs and problems were identified and solutions to the challenges were ideated. Students from Togo, Burkina Faso, Liberia, Ivory Coast, and Ghana took part in the discussion. In summary, these are the students’ reported experiences with online learning:
Summarizing the current online/e-learning situation in West Africa: In Togo, in general none of the e-learning courses are recorded, while in Ivory coast all courses are recorded. In Liberia there is no online teaching at all. In Ghana some courses are recorded. However, at KNUST University Ghana students have access to 2 GB data per month, however, this is not the case at most Universities in West Africa.
