2022 Webinar “Water Diplomacy”

In this webinar the participants hat the chance to learn about water diplomacy and hear about examples of the lecturer’s experience in the field.

Water diplomacy can be defined as the use of diplomatic instruments to existing or emerging disagreements and conflicts over shared water resources with the aim to solve or mitigate those for the sake of cooperation, regional stability, and peace.

The session was held in cooperation with swisspeace.

Speaker was Emmanuelle Diel. She has 20 years of experience advising corporations, multilateral agencies, governments, & international NGOs, ope­rating in emerging markets & conflict areas on conflict sensitivity, human rights & social risks assessments, community engagement, ethics & compliance, security & human rights (VPs, IFC Principles, OECD), CSR & partnership building. Advised IOs on conflict dynamics, transnational crime, anti-corruption, criminal justice, peacebuilding, & security sector reform. Successfully conducted over 60 assignments with repeated clients (UN agencies, World Bank, & extractive, construction, telecommunications, & agrobusiness sectors) & advised stakeholders from the executive suites to local partners.
